Suite Miniature

This delightful and charming little suite is an excellent alternative to standard piano teaching repertoire; with diverse style, intimate expressiveness and rhythmic challenge, it is sure to please. I composed this while playing “hooky” from work, with the intention of bringing a touch of popular sound into a traditional standard form.

Ten Easy Pieces

My earliest works, including my very first composition. These were mostly created before I could read music, and clearly represent my imitations and improvisations as a result of hearing Bach for the first time. They are quite entertaining, so have a look!

10. My First Composition
Written circa 1960, when I was 6 years on my grandmother’s clunky old piano. I never forgot this piece, and years later recognized it as a pentatonic passage with a perfectly balanced 8 measure phrase.
